I had a fellow knock on the door a couple of days ago to see if I would like a "Free Power Saving Device".
I told him that this will not save me power, just let me see the power in use.
Still, it was free so I let him install it on my power meter.
It is a, Emerald Electricity Adviser, a Bluetooth device that has a photo transistor stuck over the smart meter flashing LED.
As this device phones home to Emerald via the smart phone app, I will nor use it. If it was accessable directly without having to log onto an external web site, it would be useful. Of course I popped it open....
It is so tempting to activate the account and have a 555 lashing an LED to "use" Mega watt hours of power!
I wonder what is in the EPROM!
