WSPR Reporting

After Ray showed us his Fly Dog SDR that he wants to set up for WSPR reporting I thought I might do the same but build my own using a Raspberry Pi (which I have a couple). Have spent many hours looking for circuits/projects on Google but can't find what really want. Would like a Raspberry Pi with an SDR Hat. Any help would be great. Thanks.

The advantage of the kiwisdr and the raspsdr is the remote network access capability, and the ability to run 8 simultaneous receivers
But neither is cheap or in fact even currently available.

The best one at present for doing wspr is the QRP Labs https://qrp-labs.com/qdxm.html 4 bands and 5W transmitter. 24 bit audio is nice.
It's a partial kit, and apart from winding the toroids it's easy enough to build. Also reasonably priced. https://qrp-labs.com/qdxm.html

Thanks Ray. I had found that model but it is good to get your opinion. They don't have a 40m model at the moment which is what I was after but it will become available eventually. It seems the QDZ-M is single band at this time but the QDX is multi band in either low or high HF.

That looks quite good. I looked at Red Pitaya a while back, but it was a bit pricey, this looks like a good clone at a better price. Tx power is only a few milliwatts, but for Rx the specs look good.

In that category, you might want to look at the Hermes Lite 2, Tx power is 5W, lots more info at http://www.hermeslite.com/

Here's another that might be suitable. Availability might be a problem however.

They got hit by the chip shortage, still worth keeping an eye out for, especially now that Raspberry Pi 4's are becoming available again.
