using a Raspberry Pi Pico as an I/O block for another processor.

I am starting to design a PCB to make use of the RTX2000 FORTH engine chips that I have in stock.

The original board has many parts to generate video and serial I/O etc.

But, after seeing a raspberry Pi Pico generating video out, I thought , why not try to put one to use as the video controller and USB interface?
It turns out, someone else has the same idea before me. That is a good thing as implementing it is way beyond my skills.
Here is the work so far that Rumbledethumps has done.

The Pi Pico will replace a great deal of the circuitry shown in the big board. Not all the functions of that board will be replicated.
A bonus is the Pi Pico W board includes WiFi. Not bad for around $10. This will be a very handy device for developing quite a few devices!
I will watch his progress with great interest.

After quite a bit of searching, I think this is the VGA circuit.
I have yet to build a test setup and try to program it.
