If you like me purchased a cable on eBay some time ago the chances are that the chip in the cable is not a prolific chip but a clone, in Windows 10 the non genuine chips are now detected stopping you from using the cable.
There is a fix.
Download the attached driver
Unplug the cable from your computer
Uninstall the device showing the error message and delete the driver.
Unpack the downloaded folder, open the folder and click on "PL2303_Prolific_GPS_1013_20090319.exe"
This will install the driver, when installation is done reboot your computer.
Once your machine has rebooted, plug you cable in a USB port and you will find it's now working as confirmed in device manager.
