Some observations I have made.
Pi-Star fun to make, looks good and scans.
OpenSpot has more functions and is easier to use but more expensive.
Any corrections would be appreciated.

Hi Stewart,

Good summary, thanks for posting it.

Andy is our local expert on all things Fusion, so he can probably help out with an explanation of what FCS refelectors offer that's different to YSF or Wires-X.

As far as I know they are all different networks. I have a Yaseu FTM3207D that I have used with pi-star on C4FM but not recently, and I never figured out how to connect to Wires-X using pi-star, I suspect that you need a radio with later firmware that what I've got.

G'day Ray,
A radio has to be registered with WiresX for use directly into the WiresX network. It may also be true accessing via PI-Star but I would not know having already registered to use VK3WG's hotspot over the road..
YSF and FCS are both listed in the choices in Pi-Star configuration and have used them.

The need for VW mode for access to P24 or NXDN is interesting.
I had to go into programming to find it as it was not set up as the radio came.
