I don't remember Max being involved in the construction of the Mt Wombat Hut at all? Maybe he was involved in some way or other years later?

Pat VK3OV built the original power supply, I build the Cavities and modified the FM828 front end which was supplied by Geoff VK3ZNA
Laurie Gleeson VK3KL supplied the Phelps Dodge 6 dB colinear, Bruce Gillies VK3AGG mixed the Cement, Huntly Vroland VK3ZE and I did the Concrete roofing. Doug Johnson VK3YMG drove the sand and cement to the top of the hill with some hair raising driving skills. John VK3XJB, Neil VK3XNW and many others worked on building the site. Not forgetting, Wayne VK3XQA ( now VK3GMV ) chose the location.

John VK3XJB did the repeater controller using an FB1 board, he used the same board for the UHF CB repeater controller much later.
The FB1 was an early version of the R6511AQ board running Forth Software.

geez what an effor that would've been going up to the mountain, I have driven up there a a few times but can't imaging the effort that would've gone in to carting all the construction equipment up there , great job all
