Cybernet Chassis CB mods

The next victim for a CD to 10M is an old Apolo AP 701. This is a version of the Cybernet chassis like the Pearse-Simpson Super Panther.

These are easily recognized by the big ceramic pot on the side.

After removing the channel switch assembly, also remove the PLL02A chip and the VCO block.

As with the AX-144, the mode is sensed from the switch with diodes and resistors...

And the Si5351 outpu feeds into the set via a 100PF cap. I stuck it on the bottom but it could be from the top in the VCO holes.

EDIT: I had some frequencies wrong, even though it was working, so here is the updated code.
The Apolo set has a few differences to the circuit below but the PCB looks to be the same.

IT IS ALIVE.
The board and display are mounted with hot melt glue.

EDIT: Latest code is in the post above. The code posted previously had some frequencies wrong. Fixed now, at least I think it is :)

I can get back to modding now.
There were 3 x Si5351 boards DOA from the Ebay supplier, and one that was zapped by my ignition coil driver. Oops!

The last one also had a popped 3.3V reg.
Anyhow, I purchased some Si5351 chips and have successfully replaced them (and the voltage regulator on the zapped board) so now I have 4 more going boards :)
It was a bit fiddly as my hands shake more than in the past.
