'The soul of a new radio' - Friday October 18th at 7.30 pm.



Bendigo Amateur Radio & Electronics Club invites you to our October meeting, where Phil VK3BHR will present 'The soul of a new radio'.

Have you ever wondered how a new radio comes into existence? For Phil, it started with the Cricket CW transceiver and the silly idea "I could graft a synthesiser onto that".

What followed was a few months of fun involving:
- Investigating Class "E" amplifiers.
- Prototyping
- Programming
- Learning how to lay out a printed circuit board using KiCAD
- Assembly (and checking)
- Testing

The presentation commences at 7.30 pm, Friday October 18th at BAREC Headquarters, Bendigo East Hall, 35 Lansell St. A gold coin donation would be appreciated, and a light supper will be provided. For more information, email media@barec.net.au.

I managed to catch the last little bit, looked like a great project. I hope they can put it up on youtube at some point.
