Why does an Apple USB C cable cost $130?

The CT scans of the cables are pretty cool.
I would have liked to have seen comparisons between various Thunderbolt cables too, not just comparing a Thunderbolt cable to plain USB-C cables.
So, to say it is comparing $130 cables to cheaper cables is a little off, as the $130 is the Thunderbolt cable, and the others are just dumb USB-C cables.
Other than that, very interesting.
