The antenna socket on my TV suffered damage due to occasional side strain with the cable being accidentally pulled etc . This resulted in complete open circuit of input socket to the tuner board. The socket is mounted directly onto the tuner PCB
with two lugs from the socket body just folded back onto the tuner frame to make the ground connection ( not soldered ). I removed the main circuit board from the TV cabinet, then un-soldered the tuner PCB from the main board, then repaired by soldering the joints around the co-ax socket, tested the continuity of the signal path, replaced and soldered the tuner board
I then reassembled the whole show and guess what imee wok. Dunno why I bothered not a lot to watch on tele these days.
