VHF RECEIVER repair

I am attempting to repair my RHODE & SCHWARZ receiver model ESG. 30 to 330 meg. One of the HT rectifiers shorted out, a copper oxide unit, plates shorted internally, loud buzzing from a transformer and no cooling fan rotation, using the same winding , lucky saved the transformer. I built silicon diode bridge rectifier on some perf board and re packed it back into the original container. That is now ok. The receiver now works but there are still some obscure faults to sort out. The receiver is not easy to work on as all the sub units need to be connected to run the set, and when they are there is no access to the valve sockets for testing and measuring. OF COURSE it would have worked first time at the factory, with all new components no need to do any testing and measuring. The receiver has 44 valves and weighs 143 lbs and the power supply weighs 55 lbs .Some images of the rectifier and the intermediate frequency unit. And some handy picks and hooks from Jaycar.
