Very interesting video. I wouldn't be confident enough to play around with with those voltages and everything depends on sourcing parts and materials for the right price. He's being a bit cheeky with the title picture though.

It has been done before, but it is a lot easier now that high voltage battery inverters are available.
I would like to eventually be able to directly DC charge my car (around 400 VDC) from the solar panels instead of going from 400 volts DC to 230 volts AC then the car converts 230 volts AC back up to 400 volts DC.

This is part 6 of a start from scratch project when there was little information available.
My house is using 2015 BYD bus batteries.
