New antenna project at the Listening Post, Bill once again eager to experiment now preparing for a vertical loop.

Need another pole so down to the back paddock to find a new redgum mast.

Installed another RF distribution amp (zero gain) for horizontal loop, the idea being each antenna has 4 isolated 50 ohm outputs, plus SDR's not connected directly to antenna so some added protection from static/lighting activity. cheaper to destroy a little amp than expensive Kiwi Rx

Listening Post Hut gets more stuff, may need a second level soon with kitchen and toilet.

Today we fully raised the vertical loop, the job is nearly finished, needs to be tied off along the lower chord and adjusted slightly. This Vertical Loop is connected to KIWI RX1 and could be known as ANT # 1 or V loop # 1. The performance seems to be fairly good and in some situations appears to perform better than the KIWI RX2 ANT # 2 or H loop # 2 , and sometimes better than the FLYDOG RX3 on ANT # 3 DIPOLE. The vertical loop V loop # 1 produces lots of output and this evening I have switched in 8 db of attenuation to reduce overload. have a listen and try the V loop. The vertical loop V LOOP # 1 seems to be working reasonably well. The image shows details of the antenna to date.
