The Modem connection has failed on three or four occasions over the last week, so I suppose it could be stated that it is "guaranteed to fail reliably" ! !

That could be a good idea to try. But not just yet as I am flat out jacking and underpinning two chimneys and thirty feet of brick wall. Just what I do not need at the age of 80 ....

The Cocochewers severed the green plastic coated catenary wire on one leg of the dipole. Found that this morning, I don't have time to do a proper fix. For now that leg is off the ground and tied off to the fence via a short catenary wire.

Bill and Dallas,
I have some small 5v ESP based SPDT relay devices that might be useful. They can be pre-programmed for switches down to 1 minute with its current S/W like you outlined above. It only needs wifi to set up via its browser once but does use wifi for accurate ongoing clock set if the exact time is required, but can run without wifi but not locked to EST. If you had wifi it will lock to realtime using NTP time over wifi and you can login and switch it via its web browser. Also has MQTT so full remote switching could be done too over the internet. Would that help?

Thanks for thinking of us.The timer switch appears to be just what we need. We could let it free run perhaps and correct the EST occasionally. We could talk amongst ourselves as to the application of the unit. Thanks!

Hi Adam, looks pretty good would do the job. I was going to leave my modified IC22s on 146.650 and send a DTMF message via the Wombat repeater, to reset things, we have 2 metre antenna on top of the mast which works well.
Bill, do you think the 4G modem antenna being moved to a new position may fix the issue? I'm due for anther visit soon we can talk then.
