The sharp discharge pulse might be better described as a negative going pulse . Here is the circuit from W2AEW

I am working on a more advanced ramp and pulse generator for a sweeping vfo. This unit sweeps a bit either side of 45 to 46 megs. say about 250 khz below 45meg and about 250 khz above 46 meg. Am hoping to make a wide range narrow band sweep generator. The sweeper is built and tested, seems to be ok.
