Lots of talk now about short wave broadcasting into the Pacific. The LOWY INSTITUTE recommends the re establishment of ABC shortwave broadcasting into the pacific , so do the opposition however some are in opposition to that idea and mock it !!. I wonder if it might be a good idea to keep a few of those antennas in good repair, you know those ones out in the big paddock , And maybe in the big hall sweep the floors and keep the birds out , just a few thoughts, anyone else?

Great idea, I wonder how it could be organized, the Government would probably have to purchase the land back off the deveolpers first, and then allocate some resources to maintaining the antennas.

Maybe the radio club could get a contract doing periodic maintenance and performance checks on the arrays.. :)

The Russian occupied part of Moldova was home to one of Europe's most powerful AM broadcast transmitters, the Antenna systems got blown up just recently, they were transmitting Russian propaganda to Ukraine and elsewhere. Two transmitters, one 1000 kW and one 500 kW

Interesting design, it rotates apparently. More details here:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grigoriopol_transmitter

What a beautiful set of antennas , now they will have the chance to build some new and more modern ones ,the old steel can be melted down in the new steel works which they rebuild by melting down the old one , they will actually benefit in the long run by having all new equipment, it will just take a bit longer.
