All signals heard this evening. Just an observation on small portable light duty 240 volt alternators. Most of those little beasts are load excited and sometimes they will not start to generate without a load, for instance a soft start angle grinder might not work. The answer seems to be to plug in a resistive load such as a 20 or 40 watt incandescent globe when trying to run any capacitor input or soft start device including a digital multimeter. There has been in recent years a proliferation of equipment that is "Smart " and has lots of electronics inside just to do a simple job, and a lot of the time all that does is to lead to frustration. Don,t use a soft start light globe to try to excite your generator.
