The hamfest was a great day, we had a record number of attendees through the door, and it was fantastic catching up with old friends and rummaging for bargains, the food was excellent, all in all a fantastic day.
Les VK3TEX did a great job and took plenty of pictures of the day.

Mt Wombat Field Trip
A couple of updates for this Saturday’s field trip to Mt Wombat, we will be meeting up at Alan’s farm at 217 Balmattum Church Road Balmattum, rather than in Eurora at 1 Kirkland Avenue, also there will be a BBQ (sausage in bread) as well as BYO, prior to the trip up the hill.
10am Kevin VK3KFM has an 8 seater vehicle and is happy to pick up members from our club room at 10am, to drive to Euroa.
11am Meet at Alan VK3BF’s farm at 11am for a BBQ lunch, you can BYO food, or sausage in bread. Gold coin donation as normal.
12pm Travel to Mount Wombat to hold an informal meeting, view onsite installation and play radio from the top of the mountain.
We are expecting approx 10-15 members to attend.

Next Club Meeting is a field trip to Mt Wombat on May 13th we will be meeting up in Euroa at Alan’s VK3BF for a BBQ before car pooling to Mt Wombat. More details to be published in the club newsletter closer to the day. For the Arduino Class enthusiasts there will be an informal Arduino session on Saturday May 6th, more details on the club forum.

EMDRC-High Altitude Balloon Launch
Recent times has seen considerable interest in High Altitude Balloon
both in the US, Canada and our very own club.
Just last weekend, the EMDRC-HAB group successfully launched a High
Altitude Balloon and payload from Ararat. The flight reached an
altitude of some 30,000m and after maintaining flight for around 120mins
the package was recovered on a farming property near Glenpatrick, NE
from Ararat.
